Domestic Violence Evaluation

Domestic Violence Evaluation & What to Know

Court Ordered or Attorney Recommended

From our perspective, this evaluation is centered on promoting child and family safety as well as family protective capacity.  We provide timely and professional evaluations that meet the court requirements.  We won’t judge you and you can ask questions in a safe, secure environment with a caring professional. We uniquely understand the legal and emotional issues surrounding relationships and how to sensitively navigate that path.

As a screening tool developed by the State of Florida, the Domestic Violence Evaluation is designed to identify the treatment needs and sources of risk for continued violence against intimate partners of individuals entering Batterer Intervention Programs.  This service is typically needed when the a person and their family dynamics appear complex and issues are unclear. It is also useful for identifying issues related to mental health and substance abuse, repeat offenders, severity/lethality, and who may or may not have criminal charges.

What to Bring and What to Expect

Once you’ve completed your paper work online, you can expect to be in the office for approximately an hour. You may want to block a little extra time off of your schedule to contend with traffic, etc.  A Domestic Violence Evaluation can be a very revealing experience. It can serve as an eye-opener to serious problems that have escalated without you realizing it and can be the beginning of a healing process of acknowledgment, re-education, coping, mending and moving forward.  Changes can be made when you’re are willing to agree they need to be.

Set Up a Domestic Violence Evaluation

All that’s left for you to do is to pick a time that works for both of us…let’s get started!

Why Do I Need a Domestic Violence Evaluation?!

To start with, Were You Arrested?

For whatever reason you need to get this evaluation completed, it will prevent determining authorities from pre-judging you based on zero information or knowlege.  You have more than likely been accused of violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner.
